2014

This is a continuation of Chris Leung's previous two series - Supper and Suffer and Postmodern Garden - which talk about the devastating effect humans have exerted on animals and the nature. To further study the above topics, this series tries to convey that humans and animals are not simply the dining relationship of predator and prey, but also they can be friends or even further be “Connected” as soulmate to share love and sorrow.

In the painting, the girl and the pigeon show a sense of helplessness in their facial expression. Yet, they are connected with the audience of the real world with their discerning eyes yearning for more love and attention.

To further echo with the theme, the subject matters are painted in their birthday suits. It is a naked expression which conceals an ironic remark to complain the over-consumption and waste of clothes for fashion purposes and the neglect of the primary objective of garments in the materialistic world.
